A real estate risk analysis program for entry level commercial bankers delivered towards the end of the formal training program.Focus is primarily on owner occupied and small investor case studies for C&I lenders and private bankers, with additional case studies for those trainees going on to a real estate assignment.Participants gain a strong sense for the risks and key issues in real estate lending.Participants “live” through a real estate cycle, develop a working knowledge of real estate math, gain appreciation for monitoring processes and policies for construction lending including review of several “spilled milk” examples, gain appreciation for title, environmental and appraisal issues, and apply their knowledge and skills to a range of real estate credit cases. The emphasis on soundness and judgment, while finding legitimate ways to meet customer needs.
