Capstone Entry-Level Credit Education |
This is a fast-paced, intense one-week program for entry level commercial bankers, normally delivered towards the end of the formal training program. Capstone consolidates skills and tools that trainees have already been exposed to, takes those to a next level, and adds additional tools and insights. The course rigorously reinforces soundness and judgment, and also emphasizes pro-activity when facing deterioration. Overall, Capstone is a transition from training to on-the-job performance. Outcomes include a strong appreciation for the risk in credit and enhanced skills in succinctly capturing the essence of the credit situation, in evaluating a borrower’s business strategy, in getting behind the numbers, in structuring credits, in recognizing early warning signs, and in applying the latest cash flow tools including debt capacity analysis, cash flow traps, and the use of the historically best predictor of resilience through the economic cycle.
