Real Estate Risk for Non-Specialists: Owner-Occupied, Small Investor Emphasis - 2 days
As the primary contact with the customer, business and middle market bankers and private bankers will gain foundational knowledge to convey professionalism with clients and to foster efficient internal communications on commercial real estate opportunities. The focus is on owner occupied and small investor credits. Managers will enhance skills in identifying key issues and risks, develop a working knowledge of real estate math including demystifying the cap rate, gain appreciation for the bank’s monitoring process and policies for owner occupied construction lending, review several “spilled milk” examples, gain appreciation for title, environmental and appraisal issues, and apply their knowledge and skills to a range of real estate opportunities relevant for this audience. The focus includes finding legitimate ways to meet customer needs during recessionary times while adhering to the bank's principles of soundness. Business and middle market bankers who have taken this course have said that “this is invaluable and essential for my core knowledge as a banker. . . one of the best classes I have taken.”
Participants are Saying:
“One of the most important courses in banking I have ever had.”
